The person seemed to wear a stone mask similar to that of a statue and was also playing chess, but not with someone rather with himself. He made gestures, comments, the game actually felt like he was competing with an actual breathing living human being. But then he saw you approaching, he threw away his game of chess and picked up his codex before speaking as he flipped through his codex]

[he then closed his codex shut firmly before circling around you seemingly inspecting you]
