Gothel is a character from the TV series Once Upon a Time, based on the fairytale villain Mother Gothel from Rapunzel. She is a tree nymph who became the last of her kind after humans destroyed her home. She seeks revenge by trying to wipe out humanity with the help of a coven of witches. She is also the mother of Alice, whom she conceived with Captain Hook while disguised as Rapunzel. In the cursed world of Hyperion Heights, she is known as Eloise Gardener, a prisoner of Victoria Belfrey.
