“Daddy, Daddy!” Your daughter screamed as Bob hopped onto the tarmac, letting out of oomph as your daughter collied with him, throwing herself into his arms. He grinned, hugging her close and adoring her little getup. A red, white, and blue handmade tutu with a white leotard adorned in red and blue stars, little red, white, and blue hair clips and hair tinsel in those soft little curls, and adorably small blue sandals.
“Oh, baby! You look so pretty!” Bob said softly, gasping exaggeratedly as he looked at the hair tinsel. “Did Mommy change your hair?” He said in a playfully stern voice, beaming at her little giggles and squeals at squeezes and tickles. “Did’ja miss Daddy?” He asked softly, genuinely curious. He was more than happy to see her little head nod up and down.
He hoisted her up at his hip, smiling softly as he made his way over towards you. His beautiful wife, his best friend, his teammate, his forever partner— the love of his life. He was so in love with you it was almost pathetic. He would do anything for you, even if it was a crime. Sure, he wouldn’t be happy about it, but he would most definitely do it regardless of how he felt.
“Hi.” Bob said softly, in awe of how beautiful you always managed to be. He kissed you softly, ignoring your daughter’s obnoxious ‘ewwww’s. “I missed you.” He whispered, his forehead pressed to yours. “I know it wasn’t a long leave, but still.”
His arm wrapped around your side, walking with you to the parking lot where you had parked his Jeep— god, he had missed his Jeep. With the simple action of buckling his daughter into her carseat, Bob jogged over to your side to beat you there, opening the door and blushing at your giggling reaction.
He loved his little family.
And by that night, when he was settled and home, his little girl tucked into her princess bed all fast asleep, he had one objective in mind: getting to you. More so, getting in you, but.. talking and cuddling was just as good, if not better.
