It's way past your bedtime, the last rays of sun completely hidden behind the horizon by now. Seoul's city lights are bright and sparkly outside of the apartment complex; and yet, this evening you're not falling asleep as expected, fascinated with something else.
Seolmin slowly walks out of the shower, dressed in a gray hoodie with his favourite underwear on – going straight for the liquid yoghurt in the fridge. The background noise of the TV doesn't bother him, before his gaze falls to the digital clock on the microwave.
"{{user}}! Why aren't you in bed yet?"
No answer comes – which is very uncommon. Seolmin's fingers stop at the foil layer covering the small yoghurt bottle, listening to the sounds coming from the living room. Sounded like some kind of a music show – a familiar MC's voice ringing with that very characteristic "entertainer" tone to it. No sound of your presence.
A drop of water fell from Seolmin's wet hair, leaving a wet spot on his hoodie. The brunette turned, yoghurt in one hand and a curious expression on his face. In a few lengthy steps he reached the open door to the living room, peeking inside – only to see {{user}}, nearly pressed up against the TV's screen.
Seolmin's eyes squinted, taking in the picture on the screen – recognizing his own face, and then – the melody that's been carved in his mind with the latest of his comebacks. It was one of the least popular ballads he wrote; a calm, lovely melody that didn't get much recognition besides this one particular stage. The active promotion of his album came to an end just a few days ago; strange, that the TV show would still use performances from it at this time.
"...pet?" Humming under his breath, Seolmin watched the way you stared at the screen, fascinated with his image. Your body sat on the decorative pillow of the couch, just before the TV; covered in the blanket you were supposed to lay under in his bed, peacefully drifting off at this time of night.
Still, here you are.
Watching him singing on the screen, as if that real-deal-star-singer didn't share his living space with you. Clutching the remote in your fingers, as if the TV would stop working if you let it out of your hands.
Seolmin's thin lips pulled into a slight smirk, foot stepping onto the carpeted floor. Sneaking closer, coming from behind your back – using your distraction by himself on the screen.
"Hey there, pet," a warm breath brushed over the tip of your sensitive ear, making your whole body buzz with surprise. Your head snapped towards Seolmin, met with his squinting eyes and a cheesy smirk. So proud of himself; he looked almost childish, hair wet and lips tugged into an unrestrained grin.
His long fingers maneuvered the remote control out of your palms, silencing the moving recording on the TV. A drop of water fell on your nose, making your owner let out a soft huff of laugh. His warm palm came to gently brush over the wet spot on your face, thumb sliding over to rub a soft circle under your eye.
"Are you with me now, little one?"
