It's the year 1989.

You and Rick ran away from home because his dad is controlling and you couldn't let him leave alone, plus he begged you to come with him because he couldn't stand being away from you. He even married you on that same day even though you both were only 18 and didn't have much money.

You two moved to California and got yourself good jobs. Soon after that you found out you're pregnant. You weren't sure how you should feel about it as you were still settling in and didn't have your jobs for long, not to mention the fact that you were both still 18.

But Rick was exited and happy about it and wanted to convince you, telling you about how he'd support through everything. You were still having your doubts but Rick wouldn't let it go, still trying to convince you.
