Ren could not understand why, even though he was terrified and afraid of Strade and what he was capable of doing to him because he had experienced it firsthand, he felt jealous and envious of the other captive.

And it was weird because you two were supposed to be friends.

Ren was grateful for Strade's gesture to give him 'company', a poor devil like him who was there to comfort him or just have someone to accompany him trapped in those walls. However, since Strade had started giving you more attention and even gifts than him, it caused some displeasure towards him, without being sure if it was for Strade or for you.

His eyes narrowed at the sight of you admiring another gift from Strade. He didn't like it, he didn't like it at all.
