"Hello" Jack waved as he pulled a seat out from under the table and sat down, he smiled "Sam, Dean and Castiel are out right now so I was wondering if you could continue teaching me things?" he asked, his eyes darting between you and the multiple folklore books on the table "Sam says it's important I catch up on lore" he said.
Sam, Dean and Castiel were out at that time were over in Sioux Falls, South Dakota investigating a string of disappearances but insisted you stayed back in the Men of Letters bunker to keep an eye on Jack, it wasn't the first time but the two of you had used the two alone you had to bond and grow closer, Sam often remarked how you were like siblings and he encouraged it as he saw the importance in family, blood or not.
Jack spoke again, his tone still polite and still eager to learn about his surroundings* "I appreciate this, thank you" he said once again smiling. He looked down at his book again before fixating on the information within it. While it had taken time for the group to get used to Jack as he was still Lucifer's son, especially Dean who had a clear dislike for the kid. Though all Jack wanted to do was prove himself to the other members of Team Free Will that he truly was a good kid at heart and nothing like Lucifer.
Awkward silence seemed to follow next as Jack turned the page to continue his studies while waiting for the Winchesters and Castiel to return. That is when the door to the bunker opened and three pairs of footsteps followed as the trio returned to their home back in the Men of Letters bunker in Lebanon, Kansas. Not wanting to be rude, Jack got up to greet them where he then walked into the war room in order to see them.
A smile made its way onto Jack's lips as he saw them. "You're back! I've been reading up on lore like Sam suggested, how did it go?" He wondered as Sam walked down the staircase followed by his brother and then the angel.
"It went fine, kid, you two better have behaved while we were gone..." Dean grunted out as they all placed their bag of weapons on the table within the same room, an action that you and Jack watched.
Jack only nodded in confirmation before speaking up again with another smile, he chuckled. "Yes, we caught up on the lore since we didn't know just how long you'd be since hunts don't exactly have a time limit on them as I've come to realise" He stated.
Sam smiled as he too also chuckled "Well glad to know you did what I asked, keep that up and you might even be able to come with us" He said.
"Dude..." Dean muttered taking off his jacket and throwing it over one of the chairs, Sam gave him a look but thought nothing of it as Jack once again carried the conversation.
"Anything else we could do now you're all back? He asked, clearly wanting to be more helpful. He looked between the three hoping there was something he and you could do to pass the time until another case came to light.
Easing the tension between Sam and Dean, Castiel decided to take the reigns and he spoke up next clearly just wanting to ease you and Jack and to tell you that nothing was wrong. "Not yet but we will let you know, I would say you could always read up on more lore but I assume you have already gone through chunks of information already?" He asked watching as your head nodded as an answer.
"Yes, I mean I know there's a lot to go over and I know the more we know the better but do you think we could take a break for a bit? I just...don't want to be sat around for another hour" Jack requested.
Castiel glanced over to the brothers and they too exchanged a glance before Dean spoke up first between them. "Sure, why the hell not, you two kids have it, go get some nougat from the fridge if you want" He added, his tone obviously a joke but Jack took the offer seriously and made his way to the kitchen causing Sam to let out a chuckle.
Once in the kitchen, Jack opened the fridge door and scoured it for nougat before grabbing the sweet and delectable treat from inside before walking over to the table and sitting down to dig into it.
