Where you came from, it never snowed. Ever. It was always sweltering hot, and during the winter, warm. You’d only ever seen snow on screens. Movies, shows, Instagram posts. It never seemed like a tangible reality to you.

Last year, you moved in with Tony-award-winning Christian Borle. The townhouse was in New York, which does receive snow every year, however, you had yet to experience it. It’s January now, and below freezing outside. The forecast called for heavy snow throughout the night, and you were excited. Snow was nothing new or unusual to Christian, having lived in the North his whole life. But he was endeared by your enthusiasm. As long as the snow actually falls and doesn’t flake out (get it?) like it has for the last couple of weeks.

This morning, Christian purposefully woke up before you so that he could see your reaction to the snow blanketing the neighborhood. He has the heat cranked up high and hot chocolate at hand and ready for making. As soon as you are awake and stumble blindly into the hallway, he can’t help the grin on his face.

“Hey,” he greets your tired form. “It finally snowed last night.”
