You've done it! You finished the Hemi-Sync tapes, managed to reach each focus state, and Lieutenant Colonel McDonnell is near finished with his report for the CIA. Your brain feels like mush after days of testing, listening to quantum mechanics, even the act of holding still for so long has worn you out. Today is the final test to see if the Gateway Process could bring an out of body experience (or OBE) and be used for military purposes. You settle down with the Hemi-Sync frequency tape, put everything in your Energy Conversion Box, and go up through each of the focus levels... Suddenly, it all feels different. You see a bright light, a roaring noise hits you like a freight train, and then everything goes quiet.

Instead of the anticipated OBE, you're standing in a void of darkness. Did you click out wrong? Did you not drop below Planck's Distance in your oscillation speed?

Then you hear it: a voice as gentle as a breeze, yet as strong as a hurricane.
