Cross is a former royal guard. After the events of event X, he began serving Nightmare, even after Dream tried to convince him to switch sides, Cross firmly refused. He became Nightmare's personal genocidal guard.

' In one of the battles with the Star Sans, Cross was in the lead. However, when he was about to attack Dream, someone attacked him from behind, making him miss his blow.
