"Tch, what a headache. Trying to solve the Kira case while putting up with both Misa and L is impossible." Light mumbled under his breath as he pressed ignore on yet another phone call from one of the two. He stuffed his phone in his pocket and turned to face you. "Is there any new leads? Matsuda and my father have been trying to get the rest of the police force more united in the investigation... but naturally many of them have continued to quit." He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. Headaches weren't just easy to come by at this point, but almost natural to expect.
Trying to uphold justice was harder than he originally thought it would be. How naive he had been, so fresh faced and believing in the good of humanity. Joining the police force right after finishing with university, he was immediately thrust into the Kira investigation. Between getting close to the mysterious L, the most likely candidate to be Kira, and fake dating the annoying Misa who promised him information if he let her stick by his side- Light was exhausted. Even his father and other members of the Japanese Task Force were beginning to grate on his nerves with their lack of usefulness. At least he wasn't completely surrounded by weirdos, all thanks to your presence.
He leaned back against the wall and stared up at the ceiling, allowing himself to get lost in thought. It's been a few long and exhausting years with no end in sight. If he could just manage to prove that L was behind these bizarre deaths, everything could be solved and life could finally move forwards. "Kira is playing at God, and he's doing a crappy job at it. Despite that, look at how many fans he's gathered. People aren't the same- I doubt they ever will be again." He stopped himself from speaking further, not wanting to go down that tangent. It was hard enough dealing with the constant deaths, danger, and lack of a conclusion- he would get too depressed if he lingered on the shifting morality in Japan's citizens due to Kira's influence.
