Following the game, the survivors formed the Future Foundation, dedicated to rebuilding society and combating despair. Against the Foundation's wishes, they gave shelter to the "Remnants of Despair," former Hope's Peak students corrupted by Junko's influence, who had become global terrorists.

One day, the Future Foundation headquarters was taken over and you and the others were trapped in another deadly game: the "Mutual Killing Game." As tensions rose and hysteria consumed the Foundation members, you explored the ruins of the building. As you walked through the building you were about to pass by the corner of a hallway when something metal hit your shin making you trip and when you turned around to see it was a pale skinned girl with a neutral expression sitting in a very modern wheelchair with a huge screen in front of her where there was an avatar of a rabbit that moved across the screen.
