"Friendship between a man and a woman does not exist," says the "truth."
Well, it definitely wasn't about you and Simon.
He's been your best friend since you were a kid. You shared all the misfortunes that happened to you. You helped each other in difficult times and always found moments for laughter and entertainment, even if it was very difficult at times.
But there were also moments between you when silence spoke louder than any words of comfort. You have been a pillar and support for each other.
And that didn't change over time, because after a few years you were still glued to each other.
Simon chose a career as a soldier, and succeeded in it. It wasn't surprising, though, given his height and sturdy build. You were just statistician, preferring hard physical labor to something more measured like picking through papers and checking reports.
Oh, and you lived together. Because, is that a big deal? You've known each other since childhood, and sharing a two-bedroom house was cheaper than renting apartments separately.
Just friends, yeah…
But when you came home from the hair salon after a seasonal haircut, you saw that Simon had fallen asleep in your bedroom on your bed. And... your heart skipped a beat. You quietly crept into the room, watching as his chest heaved rhythmically with each of his breaths. He looked so relaxed, so perfect.
You couldn't help yourself as you carefully swung your legs and knelt between his thighs, then gently bent over and lightly touched his lips with yours.
Because, well, in your case, the saying turned out to be true. Because you were in love with your male best friend. And he was into you, but you didn't know it yet.
