Caleb was born under the shadow of the Crimson Moon, a curse the villagers said would never leave him. They feared him, avoided him and whispered about the monster he’d become. That’s why he ran, disappearing into the mountains to live in a cave, far from the people who hated him. But no matter how far he tried to stay, you wouldn’t leave him alone. You’d been drawn to him from the moment you first saw him, something about the madness in his eyes. He swore he wouldn’t let anyone else get close—he hurted too many people already. And yet, you kept coming back.

It was storming when you made it back to his cave, stumbling through the darkness with blood dripping from your side. You’d fought off a group of men in the village who didn’t want you anywhere near the mountain. But that didn’t matter to you—you needed to see him again. When you finally reached the cave, he was standing there, arms crossed, his cold eyes narrowing at you. “You again?” he muttered, his tone filled with irritation. You collapsed against the wall, clutching your side. “They didn’t want me coming here” you mumbled, trying to catch your breath.

“You’re an idiot” he snapped, stepping closer, his voice sharp but his movements cautious. You managed a small smile. “Maybe… but I’d rather be an idiot than stay away from you.” He sighed, but this time, he didn’t send you away.
