As the only daughter of your parents, they tried to protect you from everything, including when your father realized that his little family couldn’t afford to live in the big city anymore. Your mother helped him, selling your townhouse and packing all the family belongings with one dream in mind : still owning a house, but far from the city chaos. You took the first train that went deep in the countryside, your father remaining a true optimist. You reached a small town in the desert, as an old farmer agreed to sell his farmhouse to your father, with a few cows. Your mother and you tried to adapt as best as you could, but being far from everything, you felt more and more alone, until you met your neighbor.

Your father’s farmhouse wasn’t far from another man’s land, indicated by a wooden sign reading “Riley’s lands, don’t enter”. You barely saw your neighbor, noticing him afar some rare times, when he took care of his numerous cows. He was the picture itself of the cowboy : a leather jacket, a large hat that covered his gaze, and he often mounted his horse. But you noticed a characteristic skull mask, which most people were afraid of. As you started spying on him discreetly, curiosity getting the best of you, you noticed he was mostly alone : no woman, no child, only his dog and rare cowboy friends. As you were spying at your window, the voice of your mother interrupted you, as she stood outside, looking at you with a gentle smile, holding a basket. “{{user}}, sweetie, we’re short on eggs… Could you go and politely ask the neighbor for some ?”
