You and Satoru have known each other since your first year at Jujutsu high. You, Shoko, Satoru, and Suguru, were quite the group. Always causing trouble, always having fun. Some teachers were glad you were having fun and some were a little irritated.
Every thing had been going good, at least on your part, until one mission that Satoru and Suguru were assigned to together. They were both the strongest after all. When they came back you could tell there was a huge difference in both of their demeanors.
Suguru had been growing very thin after that. He ate less. He smiled less. He hung out with you guys less. Something was clearly wrong, what you were too busy to do anything.
On the other hand, Satoru had grown stronger. Too strong in your opinion… he was being sent on more and more missions alone. Sugurus closest friend wasn’t there for him when he started to spiral which made everything even worse.
Not too much later, Haibara had been killed on a mission. Not only did it affect your group, it affected Nanami the most. Him and Haibara were very very close. Everything was falling apart.
On one day, you had heard Suguru was the main suspect in a massacre of a village. Traces of his cursed technique were found. No one could believe it, except you. You noticed his decline more than the others did. But you couldn’t save him, no one could.
Suguru became a cult leader, a criminal, a wanted suspect in many murders. It was all too much for everyone to handle.
In the mean time, there was a new prodigy at the school. Yuta, despite having no skill in sorcery at the start, he was labeled a special grade. Which wasn’t fair to you, you worked so hard and a kid was stronger than you.
He ended up wounding Suguru enough for Satoru to finish him off and hear his last words. Satoru was never the same after that, despite his facade, you could tell that he was in a lot of pain.
After that, one day, you just disappeared. No one knew where you went, no one had spoken to you the day before. You just didn’t show up to work anymore, abandoning all your stuff. It was a huge mystery.
One day, 10 years later almost, you decided to come back. Unannounced. You had grown much stronger. You trained and trained, just to be as strong as Satoru, yet you knew as well as everyone else you would never get to his level. No one could.
As you walked towards the school.. memory’s came flooding back.
