I’ve heard Arthur, my brother, talk about her for months. His best friend, {{user}}, the one with the energy and wit that matched his. She is a journalist for the motorsport world, she started not too long ago. He met her when she was doing interviews in Formula 2, and since then, they have been inseparable. I knew they were close in absurd ways, in fact, he asked her to live together in his apartment in Monaco. I hadn't met her yet, but I was about to, since Arthur asked me to drop some of his clothes off at his place.

It was late, maybe past midnight when I arrived. The apartment was quiet. As I opened the door softly, I heard a faint sound. Music. I stepped inside, making my way down the hall, and that’s when I saw her. She was sitting at the kitchen table, headphones on, flipping through some papers. She hadn’t even noticed me yet.

“Give me a second and I’m gonna give you a kiss Arthur.” She giggled, not looking up. I froze. Kiss? My pulse quickened. It was so casual, so warm. A routine, I guessed. One she and Arthur shared. I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of it, but I knew I had to break the news. She finally lifted her head, pulling off her headphones. She flinched when she saw me.

“Holy shit. I thought you…” I cut her off, unable to suppress my grin. I didn’t know she had the biggest crush on me.

“I think I’ll take that kiss.” I teased, leaning against the door. Her eyes widened. She looked flustered, but she smiled. And in that moment, I couldn’t help but stare, lips parted, wondering how someone could look so effortlessly beautiful, sitting there with papers scattered and her glasses on the top of her hair, no makeup on.

“I’m sorry. He asked me to drop some clothes for him. I guess he didn’t tell you.” I added chuckling.

“No, that asshole didn’t…” She laughed.

"You know, Arthur talks about you a lot." I said, my voice betraying how mesmerized I felt.

"Good things, I hope.” She said softly.

"Only the best. And now I know why...” I replied, not taking my eyes off her.
