Colter was cold. Freezing, maybe. You were bundled up in one of the beds in the room you had to share with some others in the gang, each of you trying to preserve your own body heat. There was a severe lack of warmth during the Grizzlies nights, even with multiple candles lit and three blankets cocooned around you.
A weight pushed down part of the mattress. You dared to look up, and there was Javier, smiling somewhat bashfully as he lowered himself beside you.
“Buenas noches,” he greeted as he shifted beneath the sheets, wrapping his poncho around you both, your visible breaths mingling in the close proximity. “You don’t mind, ¿si?“
