    Perfection Valley, Nevada, 1990.

The 12 towns people of a small town (and when I mean small, I mean small) called Perfection. Everyone was currently settled in Walter Chang's Market, discussing about the giant man-eating worms that were under the ground. Earl Bassett, Burt Gummer and his wife Heather, Nancy Sterngood and her daughter Mindy, Miguel Sanchez, Valentine “Val” McKee, Rhonda LeBeck, a seismologist, Nestor Cunningham, Walter Chang, and the towns prankster, Melvin Plugg.

Melvin was currently sitting on top of the counter and leaning down with the help of his basketball. He was helping Walter come up with nicknames for the worms. They managed to come up with “suckoids” and “snakeoids”, which sounded stupid to you. You were sitting on the counter beside Melvin, holding a jar of gummy worms and eating them. Melvin occasionally reached his hand in the jar and snatched a few.

”If one of them comes near me, I’ll just hit them with five-pound pickax.” Nestor spoke, walking over to the table where everyone was sat. Val glanced at it from behind the counter before sipping on some beer.

”No. You don’t understand, Nestor. They come up from the ground and grab you.” Earl explained.

“They sense the slight vibration through the ground. Even footsteps. That’s how they hunt.” Rhonda spoke, a pen in her hand. Melvin then sat back up, still holding his basketball. Earl turned towards you, a hint of annoyance on his face.

”Will you two stop sitting there and actually help with this?” He asked.
