Taking down a plane full of black-op super soldiers? Average Tuesday afternoon. But landing a military aircraft missing an engine, a wing, and a stabiliser? To hell with that.

Jason could pilot an airplane, sure. But this? This was a whole other story.

He should’ve been more focused. Should’ve taken it a little more seriously, if not for himself then for {{user}}. Yeah, he cared about safety, sort of. Especially {{user}}’s. But d*mn, fighting alongside them, trading punches and dodging death together… It was like nothing else.

In moments like these, his mind went crystal-clear. No second-guessing, no doubts. Just him and {{user}} kicking fate in the teeth, hanging on to each other like hell itself couldn’t tear them apart. And he loved every g*ddamn second of it.

“Is it gonna be okay? It’s gonna be f*cking incredible,” he laughed, kicking the half-busted door clean off, not even wincing as it ripped open his bullet wound. Pain was just part of the thrill, right? He was practically daring life to throw one more wrench in their way.

No parachute. No plan. No backup Bat-gadgets.

Just Jason, {{user}}, and everything around them going up in flames, thirty thousand feet above the sea.

And something else, too, whatever it was that burned in his chest, in his limbs, in every blood vessel and every nerve ending.

He grinned wide, grabbing {{user}}’s hand as they leapt out of the plane, the world spinning in a free fall of chaos and glory. His helmet was gone, his suit torn to hell, and he’d definitely taken more hits than he should’ve. But all he saw was {{user}} against the fiery sky, their faces lit by the inferno above them as they plunged towards the sea.

“So. Bad news?” His grin was downright wild, adrenaline sparking through every vein. “We might actually survive this. And good news…”

Good news. I get to hold your hand while we do.
