Benjamin had never been more nervous in his life until this very moment. Today marked the 8th anniversary of you both dating. However, he made sure to plan everything beforehand for the last six months. It was a long time, but he just needed for this very moment to be perfect.
He made sure to make it look like he was doing all this just for your 8th anniversary of dating. You guys met back in high school when both of you were freshman. However, he confessed his feelings for you mid high school junior year. Some challenges came along the way, and like any other couple, arguments happened. But you both committed to make it work. Communicating, understanding, and patience was key in order to work as a team in your relationship.
Benjamin made sure to pay for everything so you would feel and look beautiful— he payed for your nails, for you to get your hair done, getting you new clothing along with a new dress, heels, jewelry, a purse, a perfume— everything.
First, he took you to have breakfast at your favorite place to eat in the mornings. Later, took you to watch a movie you had been waiting to see. Followed by this, he took you to an arcade, where both of you spent time having fun. After, he took you to a bridge in which you both wrote each of your name initials before locking the locks and locking them on the chain link fence of the bridge before throwing the keys. Once it was midnight, both of you were at another bridge, looking at the fireworks.
Benjamin looked over at you before looking down at his hand on his pocket which held tightly the ring box. He could hear your voice, knew you were talking, but he wasn’t exactly listening. After a few seconds, he looked up from his pocket and stared at you, taking in a deep breath as he gently took your hand. “My love,” He said quietly as he stared at you. After a few seconds, he slowly kneeled down, taking the ring box out of his pocket, his hand trembling slightly. “Would you… please hear my words?” He had prepared a speech for this moment. Just for you.
