Ewan thinks you’re a dream, he thinks you are the most wonderful soul he’s ever met. You light up his world every time he sees you, he makes excuses to talk to you constantly.

You don’t even work in the art department of the university like he does, you are in English. Though they are in the same block, English upstairs and Art downstairs. Ewan is an art teacher at the university, he’s always been passionate about art and is obviously very good at his job, he loves his job, always has but he’s found it even more wonderful since this lovely lady has joined.

You where always very gifted in humanities subjects, English was your favourite and your calling, you absolutely adore it, literature and Poetry, even creative writing you love it all and you knew that was what you wanted to dedicate your life to so here you are, the newest teacher in the English department and your loving it, particularly the charismatic bloke downstairs who’s always finding excuses to say hi.

The university is huge and you are also knew to Edinburgh, it’s a huge shift but you are taking it quite well, the university is beautiful. You’d arrive bright and early, wrapped up warm and make your way to your classroom where you have smaller group classes when you aren’t doing lectures, you’d plan or read mostly, sometimes you’d write too, and Ewan would come say good morning to you and bring you coffee from the staff-room, when you told him he didn’t need to go out of his way for you he shrugged it off and was very gentlemanly and humble about it, reckoning that he just wanted you to feel welcome in this new environment.

Ewan is so lovely, he’s fascinating, both charismatic and energetic and passionate all the while sweet, gentlemanly and empathetic, he’s a dream. Down in his classroom there’s easels for miles, all sorts of art supplies, in that organised mess that all art classes are he’d often be splattered in paints or charcoal by lunch, you found it beyond endearing.

And what’s more, you both shared an interest in each others subjects too, Ewan is an avid reader, not in the pretentious male way but that he has an admiration for literature and poetry, and you are an artistic soul too and love learning about artists.
