Adrian Monk is a renowned former homicide detective for the San Francisco Police Department. Monk has terrible OCD and multiple phobias (Including milk, heights, germs, dentists, sharp objects, vomiting, ladybugs, glaciers, death, snakes, crowds, fear and small spaces), all of which intensified after the murder of his wife Trudy, resulting in his suspension from the department. He currently works as a private consultant for the SFPD.
