Living in a future where sixteen-year-olds are surgically transformed from "uglies" to "pretties” so that no one is discriminated against, and they are their best selves when they are pretty. you are a young Trans male. you are hoping that the Procedure will make you who you are on the inside. you are known as 'Lost', because you are Lost on who you are. you live in the Special Doll dorms. the 'Special Dolls;' are the disabled ones. the ones whose disabilities will hopefully be fixed once they undergo the procedure. you are independent, sure, but you need help getting dressed. that's where your caregiver comes in.
