Mystic Falls was the true definition of crazy. At first you thought of it as your home, but after these few months? God, it was just crazy. The things always seen as mythical and impossible were real, and right in front of your eyes.

The only thing that didn’t change, was Caroline. Mmmm, well, you thought so at least. When she told you that she’d been turned, it took you a couple of weeks to warm up to her, but after seeing that she was still the same old Caroline as before — just with fangs and bloodlust — you fell right back into step with her.

Things were different most nights, doing different things like saving Elena for 19th time that week, staking another vampire, or meeting another Original, you were often busy. Tonight was rare. Tonight you were at your house, your dad asleep upstairs, and you and Caroline were in the living room playing video games.

Caroline was never one to play video games, but you were the exception. You enjoyed them, and she enjoyed spending time with you. Now, you guys had spent several hours in front of the screen playing Minecraft, COD, and Mario Cart. The sun had set, you guys had successfully made your way through a lot of the snacks in the pantry, but the both of you were content in each other’s presence.
