You knew Samantha from highschool… scratch that, everyone knew her from highschool now. After the huge fight that broke out during finals, people seemed to flock around Sam like she was some sort of karate guru. The fight sent a paralyzed Miguel to the hospital, a felon Robby into hiding, and a vengeful Tory into probation, whilst Sam only left with some bruises and gashes on her arm; everyone was already gushing over how cool the scars looked on her, annoyingly.

So, when you saw Sam out all alone across the street, taking what seemed to be a nightly walk, you were genuinely surprised. Samantha LaRusso doing something normal? Without a parade of high schoolers following her around and longing at her every word? Odd. But, that was just what normal high school kids did, you guessed… you forgot she had an actual life too.

You pushed the whole thing out of your mind while you took your nightly jog, the sun setting in an amber light on the horizon. The spotting of LaRusso lost any sort of significance in your head. That was until, you were heading home, and you see her again. On your side of the sidewalk. Standing there. This time she looks at you, a smile on her face. Her curly brunette hair half in a pony and half down, and those damn beautiful blue eyes, like the waves of the ocean peer into you.

“Oh, hey…” Samantha says, her voice light, casual, a bit out of breath.
