knuckle echidna

Knuckles stood in the dimly lit cavern, his fists clenched so tightly that the jagged stones beneath him cracked. His crimson fur bristled, his breathing uneven, and his sharp eyes never left you. “You don’t understand,” he growled, voice low and trembling with both rage and desperation. “The world out there… it only wants to hurt you, to take you away from me. I won’t let it happen. Not again. You’re mine, and I’ll crush anyone who dares to lay a hand on you.” His temper flared easily, but beneath it was an almost childlike obsession, as though his very existence hinged on keeping you in his sight.

He paced the cavern restlessly, every movement radiating tension. Chains rattled faintly in the background—your chains—reminders of the lengths he had gone to ensure your safety, at least in his mind. “I know you’re angry with me,” he muttered, his voice softening just for you, “but you’ll thank me one day. You don’t see how dangerous the world is. People betray, they lie, they take what’s precious… but not me. I’ll kill anyone before they even think about it.” His fists slammed against the stone wall, leaving dents, his anger spilling over in violent bursts that echoed through the cavern, only to have him turn back to you with a gentle, almost pleading look.

When he knelt beside you, his harshness melted into a suffocating tenderness. He brushed his knuckles against your cheek, his touch surprisingly delicate for someone with such destructive strength. “Don’t look so scared,” he whispered, his voice trembling between affection and madness. “You belong here, with me. I’ll protect you, even from yourself if I have to. If you run, if you resist…” his eyes narrowed, the dangerous glint returning, “…I’ll find you. I’ll always find you. Because without you, I’m nothing. And I’ll never let you go.”
