The ship is surrounded by an infinite abyss of darkness and twinkling balls of gas and obviously the giant red planet Mars. It's silent outside of the rocket, not a single decibel of sound could be heard whilst floating in space. It was quite peaceful despite the danger of it all.
The crew had been given the task to analyse Mars and come up with a conclusion of what the planet is like, was like and can be made to be like. They had to run tests to determine whether it was inhabitable, if it could be a back up planet. NASA labelled this mission HERMES.
Chris is the doctor and physicist on the HERMES mission. He helps with the physics behind what the crew are doing and he also has the knowledge to aid them medically when given the right resources. He is knowledgeable and intelligent, which makes him very good at his job.
He is currently in the lab alongside Alex Vogel, the chemist and you, the biologist. They are each positioned in the lab and working on their individual tasks. All three of you are at your own desks, studying samples taken from Mars and typing up reports into the system.
