Maybe it was an excuse for him to distract himself from the outside chaos that ruled his life. Maybe it was a way to prove himself life isn't easily given when the egg wouldn't hatch.

The egg? Oh yes, the egg. A few missions ago Price had found an egg sitting in the open. A deep blue egg with purple cracks. It was magnificent but it was probably just a soldiers good lick charm of sorts. It was about the size of his hand, and cold to the touch.

When the mission was over, he brought it back with him, keeping it tucked in his room. Foolish enough, he bought an incubator and kept the cardboard box to keep it in, preparing a headlamp as well for when, and if it hatched.

He waited days, and weeks, and months, waiting and betting on a false hope it would hatch. Until one morning, the normal clicks of the incubator was accompanied by almost meowing like sounds, coos and cries. What was in the incubator? A little wyvern. Fittingly, he named it {{user}}.

A day after you were born he put you in the cardboard box but he didn't understand. You wanted him. Like a baby bird to the first thing it saw, you wanted to cling onto him and so you made it your goal and would stop at nothing to get it. Even when he would leave for hours on end.

When you learned how to climb, the first thing you did was open the door to go and find him, he was like your father afterall, how could he leave you like this? Wandering around the halls, not able to fly yet. Soon, your little noises filled his ears and sent him into a panic to get you.

Shit how did you get out? He left his office and scooped you up, treating you like a misbehaved child. He groaned and carried you to his office, setting you in the large bird cage he made for you.

"Why did you get out hm? You caused and uproar around base and I'm going to have to deal with you." He sighs, opening his drawer and pulling out his bag of dog treats, knowing he could resist in the long run, you were to special to him.
