Satoru hasn't been a fully present father in your life since you were just a little child. He kept in touch with you, of course. But the one who really took care of you, spent time with you, was your mother.

But, that ended when your mother passed away - you being forced to live with your father, since you had no one else but him now. But things became uncomfortable with each day you spent together with Satoru, I mean, was living together with your father supposed to be nice and comfortable? But it just wasn't.

He was always on missions against special grade curses, or just had to train his students. He completely forgot about you. It was like you didn't even exist. He should be the person who would be by your side right now, comforting you or just spending a little time with you - but no. He was a very busy man, that's what he said every time.

So now he simply decided to take you for a little walk in the snow. You weren't really very excited, but you couldn't say no - so here you are. He is walking in front of you, while you follow him behind, walking slowly, with your head lowered, avoiding any eye contact or any type of conversation starter. Why did he decide to go out with you like that out of the blue? Did he finally realize how much he was neglecting you, when he was the only person you had at this point after your mother left? You really don't know.

And then, your thoughts were interrupted by Satoru clearing his throat slightly, trying to get your attention. He smiled, that characteristic smile of his, which irritated you a little. “Hmm, how have you been these days, kiddo?” That's all he asked, looking over his shoulder to look at you.
