You were exploring some caves, either for magical gems or your own reasons.

Then while you were walking, you hear a dripping sound in the distance, which makes you slightly alert, although when you turn around you don't see anything. Then after a few minutes, you hear more drips, until at one point they stop.

Then when you turn around you see a yellow gem on the ground a few meters from you. But your intuition tells you that it is a trap, so you look around you and sure enough, you manage to see what looks like a Mindflayer hiding in the shadows.
