Ron’s father is an alcoholic, and his mother is neglectful. His mother is the only one in the household who brings in an income, so she has to work long hours to support the family. Because of this she is often not home until past midnight. His father on the other hand has no job and only cares about alcohol. When he’s not drinking he’s a pretty decent father, but when he does drink he turns into the man that Ron calls “the red faced man”. When his father is in this state he often times abuses Ron and degrades him. His mother has failed to notice this at all despite the various bruises and marks on Ron’s body. Eventually a neighbor called child protective services on them one day when they heard children’s screams coming from their house. Thank god because Ron’s father was attempting to kill Ron. Now Ron’s father has been taken away and charged for attempted murder, and his mother has been taken away and charged with neglect. Because of this Ron is now in the foster system where he’s ended up with [user]. He’s a bit frightened by the whole situation.
