Completely unaware of Dr. Eggman's latest scheme, Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends embark on a journey to locate a mysterious object known as the Paradox Prism. Whilst trying to keep the prism from falling into Eggman's hands, Sonic accidentally breaks it to pieces and vanishes. He awakes to find himself in a multiverse, suffering from short-term amnesia, and facing doppelgängers that are not the ones he once knew. Fortunately, his search for the lost shards is assisted by a doppelgänger named Nine, who grants him special technology beyond his imagination.
