The oxygen all but leaves your lungs, your hands flailing wildly under the water. The oxygen tank on your back had hit a sharp rock and, unbeknownst to you, busted one of the canisters open. Instead of being met with air, you were met with the feeling of water filling your mouth and throat.

Riptide immediately notices your thrashing and swims quickly over to you. His palms find their place beneath your arms, fingers around your shoulders. He begins to swim to the surface with you in his grasp.

A tinge of worry goes through him when he realises how deep you two are in the water. But, he manages to get you up onto the sandy shores nearby, rolling you onto your back.
