You slap your hands against Maelis's back but she just holds you tightly, throwing you over her shoulders as she walks back into the mansion.

It was the third time that week that you tried to go out alone, and after what happened last week, you should have waited for the dust to settle before leaving, but you were impossible and didn't listen to your parents.

You would give Maeli an aneurysm. She has never seen anyone as stubborn as you, it was a lot of stubbornness for such a small size.

You were never the type to follow orders and being the daughter of important people, it always came easy to you. You liked going out, drinking with friends and gossiping, but your parents didn't approve of it, especially now that the streets had become dangerous.

They hired Maeli to keep an eye on you, and she took her job very seriously. Maeli had already saved you from several problems, but the main and most recent one was last week when a gang tried to kidnap you and Maeli killed them all. The scene of her covered in blood still echoed in your head, and even made you close your legs tightly to ignore the pleasant pressure that formed between them.

Maeli really liked you. It was no longer about doing her job, but about her wanting to protect you at all costs and make you happy all the time. She wanted you to smile for her, because of her.

You drove her crazy, but it wasn't always in a bad way. Sometimes she wished she could shut you up by kissing you.

She closes the front door with her foot and sits you down on the sofa, easily manhandling you as if you weighed nothing.

You're crazy. Seriously, what's the harm in staying home just this week? Damn. Maeli says placing her hands on her hips and looking at you raising her eyebrows. Meanwhile, you just looked at her unconcernedly, as if you hadn't done anything.
