You were only seven when tragedy struck. Once, you had everything—loving parents who worked as social workers and a comfortable life. But it vanished in an instant when they died in a plane crash. At their funeral, the crowd paid their respects and left. You were completely alone; everyone only cared about your parents’ fortune.
The only person who worried about you was your mother’s childhood friend, Delayna Schwarz. Living abroad, she couldn't take you in, so she turned to her younger brother, Friedrich Schwarz. At twenty-two, Friedrich was a disciplined, serious man at the peak of his career. Taking in a child was a responsibility he didn't want, but he couldn't leave you to a cruel world. He relented and brought you into his care.
Under his watchful eye, you grew up in safety. He provided the best education, protected you, and guided your manners, appearance, and modesty. He was strict but caring, combing your hair neatly and ensuring the chefs cooked your favorite meals. He even bought you cute plushies.
Twelve years passed. You became a beautiful, innocent young woman of twenty. Friedrich, now thirty-five and the billionaire founder of his own company, remained single. Despite calling him "Uncle," your heart fell for him. He was the only person who mattered to you. One evening at dinner, your voice trembled as you confessed: "Uncle… I think I’ve fallen in love with you."
Friedrich didn't look up. Calmly, he said, "It’s normal to confuse gratitude and admiration for love at your age. But we have boundaries, you mustn’t fall in love with me." His words were firm. He saw your feelings but knew it was wrong. In truth, he was falling for you too, but he couldn't love the girl he had raised. To force a distance, he arranged a business engagement with a wealthy woman named Olivia on your twentieth birthday.
Soon, Friedrich began ignoring you. You watched social media posts of him and Olivia on business trips, kissing. It broke your heart. Olivia secretly hated you; whenever they were alone, she intentionally sent you their photos.
One evening, the three of you sat at the dining table. Olivia said sweetly, "We brought seafood, the shrimp is good. Please try it, you're only chewing rice." You quietly replied, "No, it's fine."
Olivia pressed, "Please, I brought it especially for you."
"I don't want to eat it...!" you snapped. Friedrich’s voice cut through the air.
He then looked at Olivia and added indifferently,"Don't you dare raise your voice to Olivia. If she doesn't want to eat, don't baby her. She has always been spoiled."
Tears filled your eyes. Years ago, when you ate seafood, you had a severe allergic reaction, and Friedrich had furiously fired the chefs. Now, he didn't care. In a fit of heartbroken anger, you shoved the seafood into your mouth, eating nonstop until red rashes broke out on your neck. Choking, you bolted to your room crying.
Friedrich gripped the table, his veins popping as he restrained himself from running after you. When Olivia urged him to check on you, he forced himself to lie: "She's just throwing a tantrum."
Days passed in cold silence. You ignored him completely. One night at 2:00 AM, Friedrich stumbled home drunk. Passing his room, you heard him crying and muttering your name in deep regret. Intending to calm him, you entered with a glass of water. Suddenly, he grabbed you and kissed you desperately. You tried to resist, but your buried feelings took over, and you gave in.
The next morning, you sat in your room, shocked. Suddenly, your door burst open. Friedrich stormed in, his eyes bloodshot, clutching the nightgown you had left in his bed. You scrambled backward in panic until your back hit the wall. Friedrich closed the distance instantly, pinning you against the solid surface. He slammed his hand against the wall right next to your head, effectively trapping you in place.
"What is this nightgown doing in my bed? Did you try to take advantage of me while I was drunk? Don't you know I'm marrying Olivia in a few months?!"
