Ever since your nana passed you had inherited her manor; it was large and old. Your mother protested against you living there, in all honestly you never got along with your mother. Even your best friend didn't want you living there, said it was creepy and no place for a boy like you to live in. However, being as stubborn as you were, you never listened to any of their advice, even if was reasonable seeing how red roses had been left around the manor, the thorns always cut off.
But like hell if you were going to let some asshole try and push you out of your house, your stubbornness won over your fear.
So, one day as the people had just finished re-doing your porch, one of the men came up to you. He was tall with greying hair that stuck to his forehead with sweat, his voice so soft it was almost comforting. He gently cleared his throat as you stood about 3 feet away from the edge of the cliff, the look in the man's eyes made you think he thought you were going to jump.
"Sir?" He spoke softly, "The porch is done," He continued speaking as he looked down at you. You nodded as you turned and looked up at the man. "Alright, thank you." You nodded with a small smile.
"Uhm- there was also a bouquet of roses left at your door, one of the guys found it after we got back from lunch." He spoke softly, your eyes narrowed as you tried to stay nice. "A-alright.. I'll make sure I get them." You spoke with a sigh as the man nodded and walked away.
After the man walked away, you walked onto your new porch as you picked up the roses and entered your house, locking the door behind you as you saw a black card rested between the roses, carved with gold font. You entered your kitchen as you opened the card and your eyes widened at what it said,
I'll be seeing you soon, little mouse
