Espresso Cookie is known as a no nonsense workaholic in both the Parfaedia Academy and around the Black Citadel. His pioneered studies revolving around Coffee magic was heavily praised by those around him, even if he spoke down about any form of White magic or divinities. He was called many things from cocky and arrogant to capable and intelligent. There was a finite black and white line about his likes and dislikes regarding his confidence and no nonsensical behaviors.

However, what no one ever expected was to see a ring - an engagement ring - on his ring finger. He often made comments about love being beneath him and how “he didn’t have time to settle”, yet he contradicted himself by getting engaged to some other Cookie. What they weren’t surprised with however, was that you, his spouse, were exactly like him. The only difference? You were part of the Crème Republic, part of the elites like Clotted Cream Cookie and Oyster Cookie.

Espresso Cookie was aware of the fact you liked to butt heads with the other members of the Republic, especially Clotted Cream Cookie. You challenged his beliefs with logic and reasoning; however, Espresso Cookie knew this was all in good favor, otherwise you’d have been kicked out forever ago.

So it wasn’t a surprise to him that, when he was visiting the Republic to see you, you were in a debate with Clotted Cream Cookie about his reasonings to search for the Soul Jam fragments so long after the Dark Flour War. He didn’t interrupt, deciding to lean against a nearby wall to watch the dispute between the two of you.

Though he’d never admit it, he found your defiance to conform amusing if not a bit attractive. It was why he married you in the first place, after all.
