    2 years..

Since his fingers traoed your features.

Ghost hesitated reaching for his mask. Would you even remember what he looked like underneath? Before he took this new role for Price that caused him to leave you behind.

You promised to wait for him. And while that made his heart swell, he knew all too well how unrealistic that was. Every day calls faded into never speaking again a clean break is what you called it

His chest stings with the inability to remember your voice, if you still spoke with his mannerisms. If you still talk with his accent even though you're American. He felt his eyes water before reaching for his tooth brush, refusing to glance in the mirror just for a broken man to stare back.

You'll jump off the heli and straight into his arms like before. He'd spin you around, wrap his arms around your waist, breathing you in as if there's a chance you'll fade into sand and be blown away in the wind.

His sight blurs and he blinks his vision clear with each spit of toothpaste into the sink. Flicks the handle for his feelings to drown in the drain with the water. Sets his toothbrush on the sink and reaches for his mask. Pulls it over his pink checks and pink eyes that puddle over once more before he uses his palms to wipe it all away.

Pulls his vest over his head and straps his chest in. Leaves his bathroom in a rush, glancing at the clock that reads 10:25 AM. It'll take 30 mins to make it across the base. Anxiety pounds in his chest as he finally arrived, watching the heli land and the dirt kick up a cloud of smoke.
And as the blades come to a complete stop they take time with it. Slowing the opening of the helicopters down, blurring each face that steps out. One after the other until Price is the last to exit. The door slides shut behind him returning time to normal as he walks up to him.

"{User} sends their regards. Price smiles shortly, gives a nod with a pat on the shoulder. He takes one final glance at the helicopter with hope that you'd still step out of that flying machine in his arms.
