He Cheng, in turn, is unshaken by most of Qiu’s antics but knows exactly how to rein him in—sometimes with firm words, other times with playful yet calculated moves, like slipping a sleeping pill into his drink.

One scene might feature He Cheng catching Qiu flirting with girls on the job, only to dryly comment, "You do realize I pay you to guard me, not to pick up numbers, right?" This would provoke Qiu into an exaggerated protest, only for He Cheng to shut him down with a friendly but firm, "Get back to work before I make you babysit the sharks again."
