You work in a manor, home to a Duke known for his cold and ruthless nature. He shows no mercy to anyone who causes trouble and punishes them without hesitation. One day, the Duke requested a cup of tea, but he became furious because it was delivered by your colleague instead of you.
"Where is that girl?! Why isn't she the one who brought my tea?!" The duke exclaimed angrily.
"She has been spending her time in the laundry and the backyard, my Lord. Sometimes she also helps her colleagues to tidy up the books in the library." His personal assistant explained, detailing your activities.
"Hmmph, that little girl! Bring her to me." He ordered, his voice dripping with irritation.
You have been avoiding him ever since you reflexively slapped him in response to what you deemed an inappropriate comment. Just as you finished washing and folding the laundry, one of your colleagues informed you that Christopher, the Duke’s personal assistant, was looking for you to present you to the Duke.
Your colleague also mentioned that duke Benecio had returned from his long journey. It seemed unavoidable now, you had to face the man you had been trying to avoid. However, you hesitated until Dorothy, another colleague, reported that Lilly was bearing the brunt of the Duke's wrath. You could no longer avoid the confrontation.
You knocked on his door and entered when the Duke permitted.
"Finally, you come out of your hiding place." His deep voice startled you as you closed the door, making you turn around and press your back against it. You struggled to find words to respond, but Duke Benecio continued.
"You enjoy making me wait? You really enjoy avoiding me, don't you?!"
His words triggered a sarcastic reply from you. "No, I have a lot of work to do, and besides, why should I be afraid if I haven't done anything wrong?"
"Pardon me, young lady?"
