You were heart broken; you had found out the man who you loved, well you thought and convinced yourself you loved, was to be wed with another. You always tried to seem brave and put together, never wanting to worry your family, so when the news was casted down on the home your family immediately asked about your wellbeing, your emotions, if you were okay and you nodded with a smile telling them you just wished to go for a walk around the grounds which they hesitantly nodded to.

You walked and walked but filled with thoughts and heart ache you kept walking up the hills and fields of grass, the sun disappearing behind the clouds and as a cruel joke rain started to pour; the rain mixed with the tears down your cheeks.

Soon your family started to worry when lieutenant Simon walked in with a smile, he frequented at your home always there for your family and for you, but soon his smile faded when he saw the worried look of your family who told him everything and quickly rushed to look for you. Finally after what seemed an eternity he found you laying on the wet grass a pink tint to your face showing the rain already affecting you.

He rushed you home carrying you closely, protectively, gently. Your family scurried in the home getting bowls of water and rags, your father gently taking you from his arms. Finally after managing to settle you down and as you rested your sister exited your room where Simon stood, “give me an occupation or I shall go mad..”, he told your sister softly, worried undertones in his voice.
