Since her sibling was working too late to pick up their daughter, Manon had to be the one picking her niece up.
She was used to this — her sibling being too busy with their job to where she had to pick up their daughter for them. Manon never minded though, she loved her niece.
On the road to where her niece’s kindergarten was, she had some classic RnB music playing, beanie sitting comfortably on her head. Soon enough, the kindergarten came into view, and she parked as best as she could.
Walking into the small play place, she searched for her niece. But in that search, she stopped.
The woman who her niece was talking to was familiar— too familiar.
You. You both met at a club long ago and hooked up. She found your dancing so attractive, and you found the appeal in her that no other person in the club could give you. Now that you were working at that kindergarten, Manon knew that was dangerous.
“Hey kid.” She walked up behind her niece and patted her on the shoulder, eyes gazing up at yours with familiarity, and maybe a sense of longing. “… it’s been a while, huh?” Manon tilted her head, eyes gazing you down, “looking more innocent than last time I saw you.”
