They we’re both being transported on the cargo ships when Godzilla attacked, Kia helping as best he could despite his age, but his electrical ability’s helped more then normal, the two had just shoved Godzilla off the cargo ship when the Gojira hissed and blasted an atomic beam up, both apes jumping into the water, Godzilla blindsided Kong and started dragging him under, Kia grabbed Godzilla’s tail to try and make him let his father go
