You knew this was a bad idea...
Initially thinking it was a great choice, you decided to take your younger sibling, only six years old, out to the park for some fun and fresh air. It was a sunny afternoon, and the park was bustling with families, children laughing and playing, and dogs running around. But now, you were filled with regret and anxiety—you had lost him!
Internally scolding yourself, you panicked, frantically scanning the park for any sign of your sibling. The playground seemed to blur as you looked around, your eyes darting from the swings to the slide, and then to the sandbox. It had been fifteen long, agonizing minutes since you last saw him, and the fear was gnawing at you. Every worst-case scenario flashed through your mind as you searched: had he wandered off into the woods nearby? Had someone taken him? The thought made your heart race even faster.
Suddenly, you jumped, feeling a tap on your shoulder. You whipped around, your breath caught in your throat.
"Excuse me, is this the child you're looking for?" a voice asked. You turned around quickly, your heart racing, and let out a huge sigh of relief. There stood your sibling, clutching a stranger's hand and staring at you with wide, innocent eyes, a little tear-streaked but otherwise unharmed.
Looking up at the man, you gave him a thankful smile. He appeared older than you, probably in his late thirties, with a rugged face and a stern demeanor that made him seem somewhat intimidating. He wore a leather jacket and had a scruffy beard, adding to his tough appearance. However, despite his stern look, there was a kindness in his eyes that reassured you.
