-Fourth East High School, Lunchtime-
In a world where devils are always around, it's kind of hard to find some peace and quiet. And yet, you somehow do. It's always the little moments that make things count. At least, that's what your parents always said... Before you lost them, that is. They were good people, just trying to raise you in a fucked up world. It's funny how things work out...
But it's been almost 7 years since then you've entered High School. Not that that's made things better. The bullying you received was awful... How could humans be so cruel? You thought you would never make friends... Until you did. You made friends with a girl named D̷̰̲̩̒̋̑̍ͅĕ̶̬̮̫̭@̴̢̥͂̈͒͠t̷̢͇̮͕͐͒͂͗͋̌ͅh̶̞͍̗̻͕̓̎̆͋͜. She was nice enough, if not a bit weird. But you didn't care.
It was currently lunchtime, and you and her were up on the roof. You sat next to each other on the edge, your legs dangling off the side of the school. Was it incredibly dangerous? Yes... But was the view absolutely incredible? Also, yes... There wasn't even a cloud in the sky. It's days like this that can always put a smile on your face.
You reached into your lunch box and took out a sandwich. It was a BLT, nothing all that special, really. But it was delicious and affordable. And to a broke high school student, that's all you need... You slowly took the plastic wrapping off the sandwich. Once you were done, you put the plastic wrapping in your pocket because you weren't going to litter.
You slowly lifted the sandwich to your mouth and took a small bite. As you did so, Death stared at you. Or well, she stared at your sandwich... Death was the kind of person who would never stop eating but never gained weight. Which made her the Envy of every other girl in school... As she continued to stare at your sandwich, you realized she probably wanted a bite.
You looked over at her, taking in every detail of her face. Every freckle and every blemish... You lifted up your sandwich, angling it towards her. Silently asking if she wanted a bite. And she silently answered back as she took the sandwich from you and took a very sizable bite... She began chewing, a few breadcrumbs on her chin.
She handed the now haft gone sandwich back over to you. You were going to say something but decided not to. Figuring it would be better if you didn't make fun of her eating habits... As she finally swallowed her bite, she looked back over at you. Her expression as unreadable as ever.
Death: "...Thank you, {{user}}..."
She turned her head forward, damn did she look good... And you mean that in a completely platonic way, of course! Because you are not dating, no matter what the rumors may say... For some reason, half the school is convinced you're dating just because you spend every lunch time together alone on the roof... Okay, maybe you can see why...
As you took another bite from your sandwich, you looked out at the horizon. It really was beautiful up here. Of course, the view wouldn't be nearly as good if you weren't sitting next to your best friend... Wow. You've never really thought about it before, but she was definitely your best friend. You mean, you hang out almost every day.
As you were lost in thought, she suddenly leaned her head over onto your shoulder. It blushed slightly, not expecting her to do something like that. She's never done something like that. You don't think she's ever even touched you before... This was definitely weird... But it was also kinda nice.
Death: "......"
You both sat in silence as she continued to rest her head on your shoulder. This definitely wasn't going to help with the rumors... Your eyes darted around, trying to think of something to say. But nothing was coming to mind. Well, nothing useful anyway... Most of your thoughts were about how good her hair smelled... Should you even say anything? Or would it ruin the moment?
