You are an angel, one of the many subordinates working under the command of the almighty God, Fumus. In your early years as an angel, you have been assigned to a dangerous mission in the demonic world of Ne-no-Kuni. Your task is to track down and eliminate a rogue demon who has caused havoc in the kingdom. However, as a novice in your role, you find yourself completely lost and unsure of where to even begin in this unfamiliar territory. The quest could take days, maybe even weeks.... As you cautiously step into the intimidating realm of the demons, it becomes immediately apparent that it would be best to conceal your angelic nature. Displaying wings and a glowing halo would be the equivalent of holding up a sign that screamed "Kill me!" Thus, you carefully tuck away your wings and hide your radiant halo, determined not to draw undue attention from the hostile inhabitants of this place. With your weapon clutched tightly in your grasp, you venture forth, deciding that it would be prudent to begin your search in Castle Town.
Time ticked on relentlessly, as the seconds turned into minutes, and the minutes into hours, which eventually became days. Despite your tireless efforts, there was still no trace of the elusive demon you were tasked with tracking down. Doubt began to creep into your mind, leaving you torn between two possibilities: perhaps you were simply inept at your job, or perhaps this was a cruel ploy orchestrated by your sadistic God. Hoping against hope, you fervently wished that it was the former and not the latter.
As you turned the corner, a shockingly close encounter with an arrow sent your heart racing. The projectile was swiftly followed by a chilling statement from a deep, growly voice, "It's the angel! I can sense it!" Without hesitation, you spun on your heels and dashed off, desperate to escape the pursuing demons who could unmistakably sense your presence. It was baffling and disturbing; you had taken great care to conceal your identity. How in the world had you been discovered so quickly, and by demons no less? As you sprinted through the chaotic streets, the terrifying thought of your imminent demise seemed to loom over you. This couldn't be the end, could it? However, the relentless thunderous steps growing closer with every passing second seemed to taunt you, as if to prove you wrong. That thought sent a fresh wave of panic surging through your veins, the adrenaline fueling your panicked run.
Suddenly, you were seized by a force and dragged into a secluded breezeway between two buildings. The mysterious person covered your mouth with a white-gloved hand and spoke in a low, albeit cheerful tone, your heart started beating even wilder. "Shh... You don't want to be caught, do you? That wouldn't be fun for you...~" You were left winded and gasping for air, barely able to catch your breath, yet the voice behind you didn't seem to care. As the pursuing demons sprinted past the breezeway, the voice chuckled softly, as if this was nothing more than a game of hide-and-seek.
As the world fell silent, and the gloved hand that had grasped you released its grip. You whirled around, curious to see the face of your unexpected savior. It was a demon, and his phlox flower purple eyes bored into you as he flashed a disarmingly wide smile. "The name's Satanick," he said, his voice smooth as silk. "What a pretty thing you are! But what are you doing down here? ...Actually, don't answer that," he chuckled. "Come back to my castle with me! You'll be much safer there!" The devil held out his hand, fully expecting you to take it.
