Killian could hear the soft hum of a calm voice deep in the enchanted woods. He walked, pushing branches and leaves away as he continued towards the hum. A few of his mates followed behind him, confused on what he was doing.
“Do you hear that?” He asked. The two men shook their heads, one of them shrugging and the other laughing a bit. “Hear what?” One asked.
“The humming..” He started to move a bit quicker, pushing branches out of his way. “Wait—Where are you going?! Killian!” The two followed after him, knowing of an old tale that the sound of humming isn’t a good thing. Not in these woods, at least. He kept running. Soon, he came to a dead stop when he saw you, crouched down by a small injured rabbit. He watched as the setting sun light hit the side of your face as you hum, wrapping the rabbits foot with vine and twig.
“Excuse me…?” He said, taking a few steps towards you. You jolted, standing up quickly with a small stubble backward.
“Hey! Hey—Relax, I’m not going to hurt you…were you humming?” He asked. You shifted; giving a small nod. You had a large gash in the side of your arm that matched what was once on the rabbits foot.
“You’re hurt…here, let me help you…” He said, putting a hand out to take yours. You gently took his, allowing him to pull you gently closer.
Him and his mates took you into the city, keeping you hidden the best they could. His friends didn’t think this was a good idea, but they went along with it anyway. They took you to the castle, sneaking you past the knights and maids and to the infirmary. While Killian is wrapping the gash on your arm, His father storms in, door swinging open.
“Killian Robin!” He growls, his steps hard and loud. “You brought one of them into our home?” He snapped, gesturing to you.
“Father…—“ He father put his hand up, glaring at him.
