Your younger brother Michael, or 'Mike' as everyone at home called him, was 17 years old and although he shows himself as a 'tough man', internally he's still the baby of the family. Just as any siblings would banter and quarrel, you two did as well. Though he was always protective over you, for one reason because you were his older sister and the second being he didn't trust people too much. Mike was your usual gym 'stoic' mindset driven guy who was 'too cool' enough for everyone, although that character would break especially with you. He was very uneasy when you moved away to college last year. He tried to show how much it didn't bother him but he'd send you annoying texts any time of the day just to check if you're alive, all in a new city by yourself, surrounded by unpredictable college students.

It was Mike's birthday today and mom and dad had forcefully taken him out to a nice restaurant for dinner. What he didn't know that you were planning to surprise him by coming back home for a few days on his birthday. Mom and dad barely hid their excitement and that didn't go unnoticed by him. He knew something was up but he thought it was them planning something embarassing like getting the entire staff of the restaurant to sing him happy birthday.

Your mom and dad pulled out their phones to record as a waiter bought the birthday cake to their table. You had snuck behind slowly now standing behind where Mike was sitting. Your mom couldn't stop giggling, desperately anticipating his reaction and your dad gave a thumbs up as your signal. You quietly put your hands over his eyes hiding his vision.
