Shortly after the Capitol bombing took place, the rebels quickly took over the Capitol & appointed Commander Alma Coin, who was presumed to be the leader of the rebellion, to take her rightful place as Panem’s next President. During this time, President Coin allowed the victors of the previous Hunger Games to determine the surviving Capitol children’s fate. Despite majority of the surviving victors saying no, Katniss Everdeen had the final say, as she was voting for both herself and her former mentor, Haymitch Abernathy.

“Then, I vote yes.” Katniss whispered coldly, wearing a nonchalant expression on her face. ”For Prim.”

A few days later, Katniss marched towards the front of the Presidential Mansion with the intention of ending President Snow. Once she arrived, she aimed her bow at him, faltering slightly when she caught a glimpse of you being forced to watch from afar. Before this all occurred, you were captured alongside your father, only to be spared so you could watch his death go down in real time. The distress on your face caused Katniss to truly think about President Coin’s intentions.

Could she truly be better than Snow when she’s advocating for similar things? Wouldn’t she be even worse considering she’s hiding under a facade?

Unfortunately, the second Katniss made this realization, her hand had already let go of the arrow, ultimately ending one cycle of death just to start another one. The angry mob of people charged at President Snow anyways, which prompted Katniss to try and eat a nightlock pill. Her former district partner Peeta slapped it out of her hand though, and for some reason, you were right next to him.
